Facce da artista. un viaggio nell'immagine del sè
A fascinating journey through time and art, discovering how self-image has changed over the centuries. From the end of the 17th century, with classical portraits, to modern selfies, the activity will lead students on a journey to reflect on the representation of one's face in art, exploring how self-perception and self-representation have evolved over time. Starting with a number of historical portraits in the exhibit, children will explore different art forms that have attempted to stop time through the image of the self while also reflecting on how artists have communicated the individuality, character and soul of the people portrayed. The activity will focus on the concept of "change" in representation, looking at how the portrait was a means of social elevation and a symbol of status in centuries past, while today, with selfies, it has become a tool of everyday life and immediate sharing. Children will discuss how technology and social media have influenced how we view ourselves.
Activity for children ages 6 to 11 years old.
COST: child € 10.00; accompanying adult free. Reservation required by e-mail or phone
