Crossed by the Adda River, Valtellina runs north of Lake Como to the Alps, enclosing stunning plateaus, vineyards, imposing mountains, and ancient villages.

Valtellina. Taming the wild. Climbing up the slopes and domesticating the local landscapes below the Rhaetian Alps, are the countless rows of Nebbiolo lining the terraces that produce some of the finest reds. It can all be seen by car, hopping from cellar to cellar along the Strada del Vino, or by foot or bike along the Sentiero Valtellina and the Via dei Terrazzamenti.

Valtellina is the perfect pairing of mother nature’s vibrant masterpieces and mankind’s will to inhabit it. The great outdoors, intense flavors, culture, and relax remain constant while the mountains adapt for hikers or skiers. Gourmet stops are best enjoyed with a generous helping of Sciatt, Taroz, Bitto, Bresaola, Pizzoccheri, and Polenta Taragna.
