Lake Como Landscape Museum
Seat of the museum is Villa Mainona, former residence of the Mainoni family, an ancient villa built between 1670 and 1672.
The museum holds a collection of antique prints of Lake Como dated from the 16th to the 19th century and a collection of historical photographs taken between the second half of the 19th century and the early 20th century.
The images offer a fascinating glimpse into the Lario landscape through illustrations of the main villages and the most famous villas of the lake.
The museum also features a multimedia system presenting the cultural and environmental heritage of the area, with maps and historical images; a special section is dedicated to the cinema and the movies filmed on Lake Como.
Opening hours
The museum is open from Easter until the end of October, from Thursday to Sunday, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
