Mostra "Dinastie d'Europa sul Lago di Como. La principessa d'Olanda e i duchi di Sachsen - Meiningen a Villa Carlotta"
On the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Duke George II of Saxe-Meiningen (1826-2026), the exhibition retraces one of the most significant periods in the history of Villa Carlotta, when between the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries the residence entered the orbit of some of Europe's most important dynasties.
Protagonists of this period were Marianne of Orange-Nassau, her daughter Charlotte of Prussia, and George II himself, figures who contributed to transforming the villa into a refined aristocratic residence immersed in a lush botanical garden.
