Bitto Exhibition 2026

Morbegno hosts the famous Bitto Cheese Fair, now in its 119th edition, considered one of the most eagerly anticipated fall events in Valtellina, with the famous Valtellina cheese which originates right here in this region.

The Fair began as an opportunity to judge and sell the best wheels of Bitto produced during the summer on the mountain pastures in Valtellina, but today, more than a century after its inception, the event serves as an occasion to commemorate ancient Valtellina production methods, PDO products, and the legacy of traditional recipes.
The heart of the event will be the unmissable competition, which will crown Bitto PDO, Valtellina Casera PDO, Scimudin, and Latteria cheese of various ages to the podium: the cheeses in the competition will be displayed inside the cheese house, which is open to the public, and used for tastings throughout the weekend.
Guided tastings will be held in the frescoed halls and the terraced garden of the Renaissance Palazzo Malacrida, as well as in the chapter houses and cellars of the Convent of Sant’Antonio.
