Alpine Eco-fauna Observatory
This pristine alpine area allows visitors to see numerous animal and plant species up close
Aprica Alpine Eco-Fauna observatory, conceived and directed by naturalist biologist Bernardo Pedroni, is a vast area of more than 25 hectares within which an equipped nature and educational itinerary runs. One has the opportunity to learn about nature and observe up close some of the animal and plant species found in the Orobie Valtellinesi Park.
The Alpine Eco-Fauna Observatory is a unique facility that allows visitors to experience the thrill of observing animals in the wild, approaching them without protective nets and in complete safety. Chamois, ibex, roe deer, birds of prey, titmice, squirrels and small amphibians populate thenature area, which is visited by visitors from all over Europe. The area dedicated to the brown bear of the Alps hosts two specimens of this plantigrade observable from some strategic points. Recently opened at altitude is the Octagon of Nature and in the village, the Gallery of Emotions in Nature.
It can only be accessed by guided tour in the mornings during the summer months, after booking at least the day before at the Aprica Infopoint on 0342 746113.
