The botanic garden of Pietra Corva
The botanic garden of Pietra Corva is located in the village of Romagnese (in the province of Pavia, Italy). Its setting is at the foot of Monte Pietra di Corvo, at 930 m, in the mountain region of Oltrepò Pavese ("Land beyond the Po River") which belongs to the Northern Apennines. It was founded by Dr. Antonio Ridella and it covers 3 hectare of land. The flora of this garden belongs mostly to the montane, subalpine and alpine zones of the Alps. Nevertheless it is also possible to see numerous species belonging to the Apennines, the Pyrenees and other mountain ranges worldwide. Here you may find some outstanding communities of particular genuses (Primula, Saxifraga, Gentiana, Iris, etc.).
The Botanical Garden is open from 2 June to 30 September 2026, every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission is granted through a virtual ticket, which must be purchased exclusively online. For any clarification regarding the purchase procedure, visitors are invited to contact the staff at the Visitor Centre.
For safety reasons, visitors are strongly advised not to begin or conduct the visit independently. Please report your presence to the staff, who will provide all necessary information, including updates on trail accessibility and conditions.
Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing for mountain excursions, including appropriate footwear (such as trekking boots or sports shoes). Protection against sun and rain is also recommended.
The Garden offers free Wi-Fi access: visitors simply need to activate the connection on site using any mobile device. A number of tablets, already configured for the visit, are also available.
The recommended duration for a complete visit is approximately 45 minutes. Last admission is at 5:15 p.m., except in cases where scheduled events or activities are taking place.
Dogs are allowed, provided they are kept on a leash at all times.
Whenever visitors’ attention is required (for example near closing time, in the event of weather alerts, or at the beginning of shared activities), staff will issue a notice by ringing a bell. In such cases, visitors are required to gather in the area in front of the Visitor Centre.
For any further requests or assistance, visitors are invited to contact the staff.
The Management declines all responsibility in cases of non-compliance with these guidelines.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
