Piazza Trento e Trieste e Monumento ai Caduti

The large square, formerly known as Pratum Magnum and the site of St. John's market and fair since medieval times, has undergone a redevelopment (2005 - 2009) that introduced elements reminiscent of past activities.

The two portals are inspired by the "chiodere" used for pannilana processing; the canals recall the Roggia Pelucca, and the tiles in the pavement feature the marks of 15th-century merchants.

On the north side of the square stands the Town Hall (1932); in the center is the Monument built between 1922 and 1932 in memory of the fallen of World War I. The work of Enrico Pancera, it features above a pink stone base a bronze group of combatants led by Victory; the names of the Monza people who also fell in later wars are inscribed on the monument.
