CURIOSA MEMB
Exhibition
An exhibition on memory and four events dedicated to restoration.
The MEMB exhibition is a journey through the region’s memory, designed to illustrate the museum’s mission: to preserve, promote, and pass on the historical and cultural heritage of Brianza.
The exhibition offers a narrative journey that weaves together objects, documents, photographs, and testimonies, divided into three sections: donations from the past, featuring a selection from the museum’s historical collections; donations from the present, dedicated to the most recent acquisitions; and donations from the future, which invite citizens and visitors to contribute to the construction of collective memory through new donations.
The exhibition unfolds across 13 thematic areas. Highlights include the tradition of the Brianza “sperada,” vintage clothing and accessories, the region’s major manufacturing industries—from hat-making to the textile industry—and curiosities such as the collection dedicated to homing pigeons, historical scientific instruments, a rare spy camera, and precious archival documents, including letters, artists’ sketches, and private correspondence.
The exhibition concludes with the most recent donations, including the wooden works from the Malatrasi and Lampugnani collections, the fan from the Rossi donation, and the historic radio from the Tagliabue donation, highlighting the community’s active role in the growth of the museum’s collections.
