OUT OF ROUTE
The theme of travel, discovery and exploration spans millennia and civilizations, becoming an opportunity for comparison and dialogue: through works from the civic collections, many exhibited for the first time, the Civic Museums offer an exhibition that takes the visitor through the thousand facets of travel, from antiquity to nineteenth-century explorers in Africa, from the wonders of the Far East to the secrets of Pharaonic Egypt to the fascination of Middle Eastern landscapes and the "chinoiserie" all the rage in the nineteenth century.

A guided tour through the halls of the Civic Museums, discovering the art treasures that tell more than 2000 years of history: from the Roman city to contemporary art, from the seventeenth century to the masterpieces of Pompeo Mariani, Mosè Bianchi, Giovanni Fattori, Anselmo Bucci, Arturo Martini and many others, ending with an exciting "encounter" with the Monaca di Monza in the interactive area dedicated to her, her story and the Promessi Sposi.
