Il Lago Cromatico Music Festival - 2026
Lake Maggiore isn’t just a scenic backdrop to admire—it’s a place to listen to, explore, and experience. From this idea was born Il Lago Cromatico, a festival that brings together music, nature, villages, traditions, and flavors along the Lombardy shore of the lake.
The name itself captures the spirit of the initiative. “Cromatico” evokes the shifting colors of the landscape: the blue of the water, the green of the hills, the hues of the mountains, and the atmosphere of the small villages overlooking the lake. But it also evokes music, harmony, movement, and imagination. Lago Cromatico is, in fact, a festival where every event becomes a complete experience, capable of speaking to the eyes, the ears, and the memory.
From May to September, music will be the common thread of a journey through various towns on the Lombardy shore of Lake Maggiore: Taino, Angera, Ranco, Ispra, Monvalle, Brebbia, Leggiuno with Santa Caterina del Sasso, Laveno and other locations in the area, in collaboration with the Cultural Committee of the JRC in Ispra.
The program will feature concerts spanning various genres: from classical music to folk traditions, from jazz to opera. This variety is designed to appeal to different audiences and to turn every evening into a new discovery. Not a festival “for specialists,” but an invitation open to everyone: residents, visitors, families, music lovers, and tourists looking for a different way to experience Lake Maggiore.
Each event will be much more than just a concert. It will be an opportunity to discover local traditions, take part in guided tours, immerse oneself in nature, go on bike rides, visit exhibitions, or enjoy local food and wine tastings. The audience will thus be able to experience the lake not merely as a backdrop, but as the centerpiece of the experience.
Lago Cromatico is a festival of sounds, colors, and emotions: a cultural and tourist journey that invites you to let yourself be surprised by the beauty of Lake Maggiore, its landscapes, and the communities that call it home. A precious opportunity to discover—or rediscover—one of Lombardy’s most evocative areas.
