"Summer in the City 2026" in Castellanza
From Monday, June 1, to Sunday, September 27, the Municipality of Castellanza, in the province of Varese, presents “Summer in the City 2026,” a program full of cultural, musical, cinematic, and sporting events that will enliven some of the city’s most significant locations: the Town Hall Courtyard, the linear square in front of the Civic Library, Villa Pomini, the Pagani Museum, Alto Milanese Park, and the squares in the historic center.
Music will kick off the summer in Castellanza with the Republic Day Concert on June 2 featuring theNiccolò Paganini Youth Orchestra conducted by Maestro Alberto Ranieri Manzalini, and will continue throughout the summer until the JAZZaltro Festival in late August with the Francesco Schepisi Elevation Quartet. The Town Hall Courtyard will also host the Donne In-Canto festival with the Sara Cappelletti Acoustic Trio, tributes to Jovanotti and the Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, and concerts by the Santa Cecilia Music Corps, which will also perform in Alagna Valsesia for the “High-Altitude Concert” organized by the CAI.
Cinema will also feature prominently on the program with screenings at the Teatro di via Dante and the summer cinema in the Town Hall Courtyard. The Civic Library will host readings and events dedicated to the spoken word and storytelling.
Art will be featured at Villa Pomini with an exhibition dedicated to the Alpine painter Gianni Cassani, while the Pagani Museum, as part of the Festival Archivi del Contemporaneo, will offer guided tours. The CAI will offer the “Esplorando” series of meetings, dedicated to travel, mountain health, and adventure.
Sports and community initiatives will be featured with the Cherry’s Court tournament, the Summer Party with volleyball player Benedetta Sartori, the Quartieri in Festa celebrations, and the free “An Open-Air Gym” course at Parco Alto Milanese. In September, the calendar will conclude with the charity picnic, the Parco Alto Milanese Festival, Street Food in Piazza Mercato, and guided tours of Villa Brambilla and the Pagani Museum as part of “Open Villas in Brianza and Lombardy” (tours by reservation at www.villeaperte.info.
