Baia del Bogn

If you have always dreamed of going to Thailand, then you really should take a trip to Baia del Bogn on Lake Iseo. Just 40 minutes out of Bergamo, with crystalline waters and sheer cliff drops into the lake, this hidden corner of Lombardy brings to mind the heavenly bays of Thailand.

The bay itself is between Riva di Solto and Castro, and can be reached by car along the Bergamo shore of the lake, but also by boat or kayak. Once here, you can enjoy swimming in the clear waters, but don’t forget to bring your surf shoes or sandals -  essential on the rocky lake bottom! Alternatively, you can explore the little hidden caves or just enjoy the sunshine. However, the beach is a small one and in the afternoon, it is covered in shade. If you really want to try something different, then you could always take a tour of the lake by SUP, and you can admire the rock cliffs from the water. The lack of any real car park and the isolation of the area might not work in its favour, but the beauty of the spot is truly worth it.
