Sondrio wine city - Wine trail family

Autumn is a magical time for the Valtellina, just as magical is the atmosphere you can breathe in at the top of your lungs. In this season Sondrio is ready to welcome tourists in a splendid setting of autumn colors, where the woods on the slopes of the Rhaetian Alps and the Orobic Pre-Alps offer their best with breathtaking foliage. Everything beckons to enjoy the mild temperatures, to delve into cultural and food and wine trails and itineraries among the beautiful terraces, all the way to the city center.

Sondrio presents itself with numerous high-level events: Tourists can put on the sporty clothes of a runner and decide to try their hand at the three routes of the "Valtellina Wine Trail," a race that combines sports and food and wine among the colorful vineyards perched on the terraces of dry stone walls and the ancient villages of the middle Valtellina, passing through the most prestigious wineries in the Valley, to be enraptured by the scent of its barrels and fermenting must.

Given the large influx of people, mainly athletes, that the event has attracted to the city in recent years, the need to provide events and entertainment for the induced activity that the Valtellina Wine Trail brings to Sondrio has been accepted.
