The unmistakable atmosphere of the alpine pastures, the embrace of the public along every meter of the trail, the solidity of an organization that involves hundreds of volunteers and the history that can be felt at every step, make the Giir di Mont much more than a race: it is a celebration of the mountains, the sport and the people who make it come alive.
The 32-kilometer Giir di Mont, the race that annually awards the "Banca della Valsassina Trophy, and once again included in the WMRA World Mountain Running Cup calendar for the Long Distance category.
The classicissima at the end of July has now become a milestone for every mountain running enthusiast, giving unique emotions in the hearts of those who experience it. Historic but also very hard with its 32 km characterized by three rugged climbs and as many technical descents and with 2700 mt of positive elevation gain, it conquers athletes and spectators by crossing the thirteen proud Premanese alpine pastures in an atmosphere of overwhelming passion that can only be breathed on the mountain ridges of this magical corner of the Orobic Pre-Alps just a few steps from Lake Como.
