Come to the Bellano Infopoint to find out more about "The Land of Artists"
From attractions to ancient traditions, from upcoming events to experiences designed for every type of visitor... Everything you need to know about Bellano and the surrounding area in our infopoint.
Also known as "The Town of Artists," thanks to the concentration of citizens who have distinguished themselves in the spheres of writing, painting, sculpture, music, theater as well as photography, Bellano boasts countless cultural and artistic as well as naturalistic and excursionist beauties.
Among the main points of interest is theOrrido, a natural gorge that originated 15 million years ago from the erosive action of the Pioverna stream and can be visited thanks to a system of footbridges anchored to the cliffs overlooking the water. At the entrance to the Orrido is Ca' del Diavol, home to a multimedia museum. The site is on three levels, in a path designed to lead visitors through the history and origins of the Bellano area with the guidance of multimedia exhibits.
On the edge of the historic center we encounter San Nicolao contemporary art: a former deconsecrated church, now restored, which hosts temporary exhibitions on the ground floor and the works of Danilo Vitali on the second floor. Copper fish, the main protagonists of the installation, hover in the void like a "suspended aquarium."
Next to open will be the Giancarlo Vitali Museum. The space, reconnected to the ArchiviVitali headquarters and a restored commercial fund, becomes a museum dedicated to the master Vitali and will house the Bellano painter's permanent collection.
Finally, continuing up the slopes of Mount Muggio, one arrives at the nuclei constituting the former municipality of Vendrogno in which it is possible to find numerous traces of past agricultural-pastoral life. As evidence of this, in the central Via Roma it is possible to visit the Museum of Milk and History of Muggiasca, set up inside the old social dairy.
