Pavia Crossroads of Europe 2025

Pavia is a crossroads of historical, religious, and cultural routes of great significance, some of which are recognized by the Council of Europe, identifying it as a true Crossroads of Europe.

On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December 2025, the 12th edition of Pavia Crossroads of Europe will take place. The event is organized by the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Pavia and is dedicated to discovering and promoting walking routes as cultural, educational, entrepreneurial, and sustainable opportunities for young people.

The event includes:

Friday 12 December, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Sala dell’Annunciata in Piazza Petrarca 3, Pavia, the conference “Walking Routes as Attractors for Younger Generations” will be held: a full day of discussion among experts, institutions, and communities on the role of slow routes in territorial development.

Throughout the event, itineraries, meetings, workshops, and testimonials will be presented to bring young people closer to sustainable and conscious tourism, while also offering them concrete tools from an entrepreneurial perspective.
The day will conclude with a walk to the Basilica of San Teodoro, where at 6:15 p.m. the concert “Puer natus” by the Enerbia Group will take place, featuring songs and dances from ancient medieval and popular traditions. The event is open to the public with free admission.

Saturday 13 December at 8:30 a.m., the meeting point is the Visconti Castle for the departure toward the Certosa di Pavia for a guided visit of the monastic complex, followed by a walk along the Cammino di Sant’Agostino toward Pavia, accompanied by a nature guide and a tourist guide. Arrival is expected around 2:30 p.m. at the Basilica of San Pietro in Ciel d’Oro.
The concert “Puer natus” at the Basilica of San Teodoro is open to everyone.
