Maniva Pass
About 50 km from Brescia, the Maniva Pass is one of the most stunning high mountain passes in the Brescian Pre-Alps. With its vast high-altitude panoramas it is perfect for winter trips with the family. And its charm takes on a whole new enchanting tone after sunset.
The scenery changes with every step on the Maniva Pass: clearings, woods and ridges follow one another along a route that continues to offer new views. Maniva is above all a meeting point between Val Trompia and Val Sabbia, and it is able to combine this accessibility with a charming high-altitude atmosphere.
Brescia is an easy hour’s drive away, following the SP 345 road in Val Trompia, heading towards Collio. From here, you continue along the well-signposted, winding road up to the pass and its panoramic views. Alternatively, Maniva can also be reached from Val Sabbia, passing via Bagolino. During the winter period, it is always important to check the road conditions.
Once at altitude, Maniva changes its appearance. And at sunset, it can be seen at its most charming. The ideal way to see Maniva Pass with new eyes is a moonlit snowshoe trek. During the winter, group excursions, lasting around two hours are available, accompanied by an expert guide.
There are different routes, from the shortest to the most complete, with the possibility to include dinner in a refuge in the package. An adventure that even smaller children can enjoy, as they rediscover nature with fresh eyes, surrounded by the peace and quiet of the evening, the scent of the conifers, and the sound of the crisp snow under their snowshoes.
