Le Tradizioni Lariane: rassegna di musica, eventi e gastronomia locale
“Le Tradizioni Lariane” is a festival that brings together some of the most representative events in the province of Lecco: celebrations, folk culture and the enhancement of historic town centers into a single calendar. The 2026 edition runs from May to September, creating a journey that combine local identity, history, performances and community.
The journey begins on May 16 and 17 in Olginate with “Qua e là per piazze e cortili,” an international street artists festival, now in its eleventh edition. The town squares and the riverfront become an open-air stage featuring jugglers, acrobats, clowns, music and family workshops, in an atmosphere that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
On June 6, Galbiate opens its courtyards with “4 Lati di Cielo”: the historic center becomes a lively route filled with performances, music, crafts and local food, turning the town into a large open-air cultural space.
From June 12 to 14, Mandello del Lario hosts the second “Sagra della Tradizione Lariana,” a 3-day event dedicated to local culture, with traditional cuisine, exhibitions, and historical reenactments with the purpose to celebrate lake, history and community.
On July 11, Vercurago lights up the summer with “La Notte sul Lago,” an evening of music, street food, performances and local associations, culminating in a fireworks show along the lakeside.
From August 27 to 30, Calolziocorte embraces global traditions with “Lo Spirito del Pianeta,” a major festival of indigenous cultures featuring dances, ceremonies and crafts from around the world. A unique event that becomes a global village where visitors can encounter distant peoples and cultures.
During the first weekend of September, from the 4th to the 6th, Civate presents its “Festa del Lago,” three days of conviviality, music, food and lakeside activities in the area called Isella: an event that blends tradition and social life.
On September 12, Valmadrera comes alive with the “Golden Night,” an evening of open shops, performances, music and cultural initiatives across the town center, designed to promote local businesses and bring the city to life.
Between September 12 and 13, Garlate hosts the historic “Festa delle Corti,” one of the longest-running events in the area: the town courtyards open to visitors with displays of traditional crafts and scenes of rural life, creating a journey into the past.
The following weekend, September 19 and 20, Lecco dedicates two days to the "Scapigliatura" movement in its symbolic villas:, illa Gomes and Villa Ponchielli in district Maggianico. The parks and buildings will become settings for guided tours, tastings, storytelling and performances that revive the artistic and musical legacy of this fascinating chapter of Lombard culture.
The festival concludes on September 27 in Abbadia Lariana with “Le Vie della Seta,” a day dedicated to the area’s silk-making history. The Civico Museo Setificio Monti opens its doors for guided tours that explore the deep connection between Abbadia and its textile tradition, a day also enriched with street markets and music.
“Le Tradizioni Lariane” thus becomes one great collective story that runs through towns, histories and communities, offering a vivid and shared image of a region that knows how to celebrate its identity.
