Cappella dei Morti della Peste
Discovering the small building on the side of a fairly busy street—one that all too often goes unnoticed—which bears witness to an epidemic that profoundly affected the area’s residents and to Alessandro Manzoni’s masterpiece *The Betrothed*, which he dedicated to the devastating plague that struck Lombardy, and in particular Milan, to which he devotes no fewer than two chapters. Part of the 2026 FAI Fall Open House.
