Campodolcino is situated at an elevation of 1070 meters and lies on a plain that reveals evocative views and landscapes in every season, where the mountain breeze brushes the green meadows in summer and white roofs in winter, and the warmth of traditional flavors warms the heart.

There are some corners in the area that are all worth discovering: Fraciscio, birthplace of St. Luigi Guanella, with its striking Tibetan bridge; the alpine pastures of Servizio, Gualdera and Bondeno, with a wide view of the valley below and the peaks; Starleggia, starting point for the prehistoric site of Pian dei Cavalli; San Sisto with its huts; or Alpe Motta with its characteristic Lago Azzurro. It is also an important stop on the Via Spluga, an original Roman road and a route rich in history, culture and landscapes.
Spending your vacation between relaxation and sports is possible thanks to the fitness trail immersed in the forest, starting from Acquamerla Park to the lake and Prestone Dam, and the various cycling and trekking routes. The sports center also offers the opportunity to practice sports such as soccer, tennis, basketball, and rock climbing at the municipal gym, while children can play in the area's various inclusive playgrounds and at the adventure park in the summer months.

Campodolcino is also an ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Via the Sky Express underground funicular railway, it takes just 3 minutes to reach Alpe Motta, from where you can access all the ski lifts in the Valchiavenna Ski Area.
The area also offers the opportunity to practice winter Nordic walking, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the approved 5-kilometer Alpe Motta trail.
