The Trail of Expressions
Accessible from the centre of Schignano by following signs to the hamlet of Posa (840m) where, after parking your car, you can continue on foot towards Alpe Nava, this extraordinarily beautiful first path, invites us to discover works of art made with bark and tree trunks by skilled woodcarvers.
A special place where the tree trunks express the most diverse emotions of the soul and the woodland seems to come to life thanks to these expressive forms with a human face.
Created in 2014 thanks to a collaboration between ERSAF (Lombardy Regional Board of Agriculture and Forestry Services, or Ente Regionale per i Servizi all’Agricoltura e alle Foreste), the Municipality of Schignano and the Associazione MASCHERA, a group famed for its skills in creating Carnival masks and sculptures, the Trail of Expressions runs along the Valle Intelvi Regional Forest, the result of an enchanting combination of art, woodland and tourism.
From Alpe Nava you head to Alpe Comana, where you will find a small lake and a holiday farm and, after climb leading to the top of Monte Comana (1210m), you will reach an incredible panoramic view overlooking Lake Como.
