The Course of the Po River

One of the most eagerly anticipated events of late summer, in the Province of Cremona and beyond its local borders: it is the “Discesa del Po”, a non-competitive sporting event organized by the Persona-Ambiente Association and the Eridanea and Amici del Po Rowing Clubs of Casalmaggiore, under the patronage of the municipalities located along the course of the Great River and with the participation of numerous associations. 

A great collective adventure to discover and protect the beauty of the Po!

You can participate however you like:

by canoe, on a SUP, or in a rowboat
To participate, you must have a life jacket, have experience paddling in moving water, and inflatable canoes are PROHIBITED; please follow the organizers’ instructions.

by swimming (accompanied by support canoes)
To participate, you must have experience swimming in a current and in open water. Each swimmer will be accompanied by a canoe throughout the entire route for support and refreshments. Participation is subject to selection by the organizers.

by bicycle (competitive and recreational routes)

on foot
or as a tourist aboard motorboats and boats
