1825-2025: the Stelvio Road turns 200 years old
Among the many initiatives and events scheduled between May and November, the official celebration is scheduled for July 5-6, 2025.
All sides of the Road will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow this important anniversary to be celebrated with various meeting, cultural and food and wine initiatives at a slow pace and events that will echo the historic atmosphere.
A stage will be set up on the terrace near the Stelvio Pass from which the various ceremonials will be held. Various stands will be set up in the area where you can discover and taste the typical products of the three local traditions. There will be no shortage of sports competitions, cycling and otherwise, and you will also have the opportunity to participate inorganized excursions to discover the area. Also, get ready to relive the glories of the past, including rides in historic horse-drawn carriages and parades of vintage cars.
In addition to the sporting events between cycling and walking, there are musical concerts, literary meetings and food and wine events: the cultural connection created by the Queen of the Alpine Roads is the common thread running through a series of initiatives aimed at bringing together the cultures of the three territories: Lombardy, South Tyrol and Engadine.
