Capo di Lago: under a starry sky (BS)
Lying on the shores of Lake Moro, Capo di Lago is a small hamlet of Darfo Boario Terme and on warm summer nights, it turns into a natural observatory.
Here, in the heart of unspoilt nature, light pollution leaves room for the authentic darkness of the night, deep and enveloping, allowing the eyes to find their way back to the stars. It is no coincidence that this tiny hamlet of Darfo Boario Terme, with just a few dozen inhabitants, has received the prestigious 'Italy's most beautiful skies' certification (Silver level) from Astronomitaly, the national astronomical tourism network.
This certification includes Capo di Lago among the top destinations for astrotourism: with torches, telescopes, and even with the naked eye, you can admire the Milky Way and shooting stars, in an extraordinarily clear sky free of light interferences. The lake itself, a sheet of water surrounded by forests and mountain profiles, contributes to making this experience even more magical, reflecting the celestial vault in a silent sparkle that amplifies the wonder.
Various initiatives are organised by local organisations in collaboration with the Giorgio Gaioni Astronomical Observatory, such as observation evenings or night events. An opportunity to bring adults and children closer to astronomical culture, not in a technical or distant way, but through direct experience and the pure emotion that comes from getting in contact with the sky.
Capo di Lago becomes the perfect place to rediscover the boundless dimension of the celestial vault in a dreamy atmosphere, where nature and astronomical culture meet.
