Tour of Torno

Villago offers a guided tour to discover the wonders and curiosities of the town of Torno, the beautiful “village” of Lake Como, which even Herman Hesse described as “love at first sight”.
We will accompany you among the jewels of the historic lake nucleus, among the places of work, the prestigious historic buildings and the fascinating symbols of popular devotion.
The route will start from the famous marina, often used as a film set, will continue in the historic church of Santa Tecla, and then go through the houses and shops of the ancient wool dealers of the past.
Subsequently, after a short walk, we will arrive in the fifteenth-century church of San Giovanni, where the precious relic of the Sacred Nail is kept, an important reference of the popular religion of Lariana.
Upon returning, to complete the history of the village, we will focus on the political culture of the lake, certainly not current, but that of past eras, of which the great palace of the podestà is still a faithful guardian.

The route will wind for about 1.5 km. between ascents and descents, comfortable shoes are recommended.
