On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the village of Montesegale, in the Oltrepò Pavese area, will host the 29th San Damiano Fair, an event that combines history, culture, and local flavors. A full day of festivities will take visitors on a journey through tradition and folklore, set in the charming medieval village dominated by its ancient castle.
Program of the San Damiano Fair 2025The event will officially open at 11:00 a.m. Throughout the day, visitors can explore the food and wine market and the ancient crafts exhibition, featuring De.C.O. certified products, local handicrafts, and tastings.
At 11:00 a.m., cultural activities with local associations will take place, while from 12:00 p.m. the food stalls will open, offering traditional specialties, Oltrepò wines, and De.C.O. and DOP products.
Historical re-enactment under the castle wallsOne of the highlights of the day will take place at 3:30 p.m.: the historical re-enactment “Under the castle walls: the Gambara Counts reconquer the Fief of Montesegale,” bringing the village back to medieval times with parades, knights, and traditional games.
Shows and workshops for childrenStarting at 4:00 p.m., children can enjoy a theater workshop for kids and teens, organized by the Oltrepò Theater Company. Costumed entertainment and a puppet show will make the day truly special for families.
At 4:15 p.m., visitors will also have the chance to try archery, an activity that combines sport, tradition, and fun.
