Palio di Vigevano

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 October 2025 mark the return of the Palio delle Contrade of Vigevano, now in its 44th edition, transforming the Sforza Castle into a stage of history, colors, and emotions.

Twelve Contrade compete for the Cencio dedicated to Blessed Matteo Carreri, patron of the city. Only one will raise the banner of victory, but the unique atmosphere will captivate every visitor.

A weekend of tradition and spectacle

The Palio of Vigevano 2025 is much more than a competition: it is a journey through time that engages the entire city.
The program includes:

• Historic games between the Contrade: challenges of skill, strength, and strategy bring ancient rivalries back to life.

• Renaissance parade: ladies, knights, and costumed figures march through the streets of the city to the Castle.

• Unique atmosphere in the Castle Courtyard: a setting that revives the Renaissance spirit with music, reenactments, and performances.
