Magut Race: the masons' race

One of the most goliardic and fun mountain running events in the Bergamasque region: it's the Magut (Muratori) Race, which is run with a 25-kg bag of cement on the shoulder.

It is scheduled in Selvino (BG) on the afternoon of Saturday, July 12, at Mount Purito.
Race terrain of the Magut Race is a short but very steep 230 m climb with 70 m elevation gain carrying a bag of cement on the shoulders.

On Saturday, masonry workers from Lombardy and beyond will be at the starting tape in a sort of celebration of Magut.

PROGRAM

3:00 p.m./5:30 p.m.: Bib/race pack pickup, race day, JULY 12, Selvino Sport start/skating area in Corso Monte Rosa 8, Selvino (BG)

6 p.m.: First athlete departure at Monte Purito, Corso Monte Rosa 8, Selvino (BG)

8:30 p.m. / 9:00 p.m.: Awards ceremony at Monte Purito

21.30: Closing event.
