Stelvio Pass

The summer paradise for skiers.

Nestled between the imposing peaks of the Ortler Alps, the Stelvio Pass is the largest alpine summer ski areas and one of the most important in Europe.

Here on the glacier, from May until November, it is possible to ski on over twenty kilometres of slopes, between the 2758 metres of the Pass and the 3450 metres of Mount Cristallo, a site chosen by the biggest champions for the preparation of the competition season.

In the Stelvio National Park, and with the help of cutting edge systems, the slopes welcome all lovers of alpine skiing, cross country skiing and snowboarding in incomparable mountainous scenery, which will win over not only sportsmen but nature lovers. Indeed, the park is an unspoilt world to be discovered in excursions following the tracks of animals living in freedom and historical itineraries linked to the events of the First World War, retracing the steps of the soldiers all the way to the trenches and the remains of fortifications.

The Stelvio Pass is not only about summer skiing, it is also synonymous with cycling along the bends of the spectacular road commanded by Franz II Emperor of Austria. An itinerary for professional and amateurs alike, hosting the Re Stelvio, the climb from Bormio to the Pass, in the footsteps of Fausto Coppi. Motoring lovers cannot miss the famous Motoraduno Stelvio International and the traditional vintage car rallies, alternative options to enjoy the mountain and take in its breathtaking landscapes.
