Magasa
Starting point for long hiking trails within the Alto Garda Bresciano Park
Stories of traditions, crafts, and products from the Garda hinterland are all found in the smallest municipality in the province of Brescia: Magasa.
The village clings to a steep slope and is the most popular in the Val Vestino.
The most important feature of the area is its natural surroundings, which make it a true oasis surrounded by greenery, the starting point for long hiking trails that wind through the Alto Garda Bresciano Park.
It’s worth visiting the hamlet of Cima Rest, known for its distinctive stone buildings with thatched sloping roofs.
In addition, the village of Cima Rest is home to the Astronomical Observatory, where you can observe the stars, and the Ethnographic Museum, a tour through the barns to learn about the tools used in farming, crafts, and cheese-making.
Among the local specialties, the Tombea cheese stands out; it takes its name from the mountain of the same name on which the village of Magasa is perched and is produced in the municipality’s alpine pastures.
