Da Pavia a Belgioioso

A due passi da Pavia, scopri il Castello di Belgioioso per un fuoriporta tra saloni e affreschi di grande splendore

Chi ha memorizzato il luogo sul Gps per raggiungere il castello,  forse non sa che Belgioioso, a due passi da Pavia, offre altri spunti per un fuoriporta.

 
Nel Medioevo, fu tappa sulla via Francigena per Roma. Lo ricorda una pieve del XII secolo in località Cerreta dedicata a San Giacomo, patrono dei pellegrini. La chiesa, in mattoni a vista rossi, conserva antichi affreschi ex-voto. Dal sacro al profano: conoscete la leggenda di Cristina Trivulzio di Belgioioso? Affranta per la morte di Gaetano, suo segretario, la principessa avrebbe fatto imbalsamare la salma, nascosta in una stanza del castello.

Anche chi già conosce la villa e il suo giardino all’italiana con magnolie centenarie, ha motivo di tornarci: la sala degli Stucchi, il salone del Ballo e altri stupendi ambienti, dopo il restauro sono tornati all’antico splendore. Mentre un itinerario multimediale evoca i fasti di una dinastia di principi e mecenati: i Visconti.
