In the center of Lodi you can see buildings and monuments that are real architectural and decorative jewels

Monuments Lodi. The province astonishes visitors with some of the most fascinating monuments in Lombardy. Localities of extraordinary charm with countles landmarks, ideal for cultural tourism.

Lodi boasts a splendid sqare surrounded by arcades facing the Cathedral, the Municipality and Palazzo Vistarini, a XIV century mansion. The neoclassical Broletto stands nearby with a decorated base showcasing the busts of Strabone and Frederick II.

Visiting monuments in Lodi includes going to the Ospedale Maggiore, an ancient structure with an elegante facade designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, who built other monuments in Lombardy, such as La Scala Theater in Milan. Admire the indoor frescoes of its cloister.

Do nof miss the Teatro delle Vigne and the Mozzanica building, one of the best known in the city. Furthermore, it is necessary to remember the religious Temple of Beata Vergine Incoronata, embellished with golden furnishings and the Church of San Francesco. Porta Cremona is the result of a restoration effort by Dossena of an imposing yet refined appearance.

In order to better enjoy tourism in Lodi it is recommended to go to the castles of Somaglia and Meleo.
