LA MOSTRA - dal 20 febbraio al 19 maggio 2019

Per la prima volta in Italia, le opere dell'artista olandese Theo Jansen, sono esposte nella mostra "Dream Beasts. Le spettacolari creature di Theo Jansen", ospitata dal Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci,

Sono tredici sculture cinetiche, dall'aspetto zoomorfo sono realizzate con materiali industriali e  sono in grado di muoversi con il solo impiego della forza dell'aria e del vento, elementi che caratterizzano il clima costiero olandese. Per questo motivo sono chiamate Strandbeest ("animali da spiaggia").

La mostra, allestita all'interno del padiglione Aeronavale del Museo, permette una riflessione sui temi attuali dell'innovazione e della sostenibilità, punti chiave della ricerca dell'artista, definito un "moderno Leonardo da Vinci" e per questo promotore di un dialogo continuo tra scienza e arte.

Questa vicinanza alla figura di Leonardo ha portato il Museo a scegliere di ospitare l'artista e le sue opere proprio nell'anno dedicato alle celebrazioni vinciane.
