Walking in Pescarenico
SATURDAY 18 JULY 2020
Villago offers an interesting cultural walk through the historic alleys of the “Caleotto”, once part of the Manzoni estate of Lecco, and of Pescarenico, the historic fishing district of the city of Lecco, even mentioned in the “betrothed”.
In the footsteps of the walks loved by Alessandro Manzoni, we will begin the journey from the family villa of the same name, we will continue on foot in the historic properties of the estate (now transformed into industrial areas, the “caleotto”) and then enter the church and convent of “Fra Cristoforo “and conclude the walk in the village of pescarenico, in the places that inspired Lucia’s” farewell to the mountains “.
Here, we will delve into the history of a loving fishing village, between nets hung out to dry and lights on the banks, ready to let the patrons flee to Milan to cross the Adda.
We will get to know the fishermen of the past, we will meet the fishmongers on the fish square, first, and in modern bistros today, to reach a boat workshop.
The route will wind for about 2.5 km, comfortable shoes are recommended.
Recommended parking in Via Giuseppe Badoni 2, a few meters from Villa Manzoni.
Booking is required and mandatory.
