Ville Aperte in Brianza - 2018
‘Ville aperte in Brianza’ (Open Villas in Brianza) the local cultural heritage initiative, is now gearing up for its sixteenth edition, from September 15th to 30th 2018.
Established in 2003, this event aims to enhance and promote the special cultural heritage of Monza and Brianza by throwing open the doors of beautiful villas and other buildings of significant historical and cultural interest and invite the public to admire their unique charm.
Furthermore, for this 2018 edition, the number of historical sites that can be visited increases to 150: villas, palaces, parks and gardens, churches and museums (both public and private) scattered over the ‘Brianze’ territory: Monza, Lecco and Como, Milan and, a new entry this year, Varese.
The stunning ‘ville di delizia’ country residences reached their peak of splendour between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Architectural gems commissioned by the great noble families of the era: impressive dwellings with vast parks landscaped with Italian and English gardens and decorated with numerous works of art that can be admired during the initiative.
A wonderful opportunity, therefore, to discover the many gems, both large and small, that form part of the great artistic, architectural and cultural wealth of the local territory.
