Palio of Isola Dovarese

The Palio di Isola Dovarese returns from September 11–13, 2026 for its 59th edition, reviving one of the most significant events in Lombardy’s historical reenactment calendar.

In the heart of the grand Gonzaga square, Isola Dovarese brings the 15th-century Lombardy back to life, transforming the village into a space suspended between history, theater, and community. The Palio is not merely a festival, nor a simple costumed reenactment: it is a cultural project that each year weaves together performance, research, memory, and collective participation.

The 59th edition bears the title “There Where Heaven Blooms — De hominis itinere” and ideally concludes the trilogy dedicated to the theme of travel, developed over the past three years under the artistic direction of Emanuele Tira: a journey that has traversed ancient myth and medieval spirituality and now arrives at the luminous threshold between the human and the divine.
