E-bike Education Tour
Educational dedicated to the cultural enhancement of Forte Montecchio Nord, a regionally owned site, along with the promotion of the UNESCO Cycling Route, developed by the Polytechnic University of Milan as part of the project “Journey Through Lombardy’s UNESCO Heritage: Stories, Routes, Narratives Between the Real and the Virtual” (funded by the MiC through funds from Law 77, year 2022).
The initiative is also linked to the new project “UNESCO Heritage in Lombardy: Beauty for All” (funded by the MiC through funds from Law 77, 2025), which calls for the organization of specific promotional events—including those focused on sustainable mobility—to be carried out in collaboration with ERSAF and the Polytechnic University of Milan between 2026 and 2027.
The day’s program includes a visit to the UNESCO site “Crespi d’Adda Workers’ Village,” an e-bike ride along the Adda bike path, and arrival at Forte Montecchio Nord, owned by the Lombardy Region.
Upon arrival at the fort, participants will enjoy a snack featuring products from the Valtellina Organic District, a presentation on the UNESCO bike path, and a guided tour of the complex.
The event, organized by ERSAF and funded as part of the DG Culture’s implementation project “Cultural Enhancement of Forte Montecchio Nord,” will be attended by industry professionals and journalists.
The goal is to raise awareness of the cultural heritage by connecting Forte Montecchio Nord in Colico with the Cycling Loop of Lombardy’s UNESCO Sites, making the cultural offerings more accessible and enjoyable, even through sustainable transportation.
