Aperitivo in the Lavender

Have you always been captivated by the sight of lavender in bloom in Provence? No need to travel that far — you can enjoy this wonderful sensory adventure, a feast for both nose and eyes, right on your doorstep, among the hills of Oltrepò Pavese.

A short walk through the vineyards will bring you to Torre Memoriola farm, near Borgoratto Mormorolo. In the company of your hosts, you will visit the flowering lavender field and discover all the secrets of this intoxicating plant. At the end of the visit, you will reach the top of the lavender field, where a stunning view opens over the medieval village of Fortunago and Stefanago Castle. There, amid photos and selfies, you will enjoy an aperitivo featuring the farm's own specialities. The return to the cars follows the same path as the outward journey.

Trail details

Total length: 4.5 km, almost entirely on unpaved track Difficulty: T (Tourist). Very easy, though the short uphill section on the outward stretch requires reasonable physical fitness. Elevation gain: 50 m Duration: approximately 2.5 hours, including stops for guided explanations and the aperitivo What to wear: sports shoes and clothing; bring water for the walk.

A spare pair of shoes is mandatory due to African Swine Fever regulations. The disease is not contagious to humans or dogs, but both can carry and transmit it to domestic pigs, for which it is fatal. Shoes worn during the walk must therefore be disinfected at the end of the excursion, either on site or at home.

Membership and participation

The activity is reserved for members of the Association. Membership cards can be obtained on the day at the participant welcome point.

At departure, new members will need to fill in the association membership form with their personal details and sign a liability waiver in favour of the Association's board.

Participation fee: €25 per person; children up to 10 years old: €15. Minors participate under the exclusive supervision and responsibility of their adult companions.

How to register

Booking must be made through Associazione Calyx's contact details. Registrations will close when places are full, and in any case by 9:00 PM on Friday 19 June.

Participation requires a valid association membership card, which can be obtained free of charge at the meeting point on the day.

If Saturday evening is fully booked, the same event will be repeated on Sunday 21 June at 10:00 AM.
