E-bikes in Lombardy
The bicycle is definitely the ideal way to discover an area, thanks to the e-bike, cycling tourism is just within everyone's reach!
For a few years now, the use of the e-bike or pedal-assisted bike has been growing rapidly.
The mechanism is very simple-a (electric) motor and sensors: the pedaling one, the effort one or the rotation one and that's it.
From a niche market, it has completely transformed: it is no longer "for the third
age" but also for families, children, adventurer-principals, travel lovers
environmentally sustainable and certainly also for cycle tourists eager to get to destinations that
would otherwise struggle too much to reach.
Lombardy has more than 2,500 km of bicycle routes suitable for everyone.
You will be enraptured going to discover an extremely varied territory and
to an offer for all tastes: historical excursions, mix of activities where in addition to
e-bike routes you can combine activities such as rafting, kayaking and quad biking, but
also food and wine e-bike tours, discovering Lombard lakes and refuges.
Here are some ideas for spending an afternoon with the family or exploring in
autonomously fascinating and semi-unknown territories, of great importance
scenic and natural but also rich in great charm and history.

A loop route with departure and arrival in Mortara of about 80km, with practically no elevation gain, where you will be immersed in the natural territory of Lomellina and can explore the many bird species such as grey herons or red herons.

It starts from Desenzano and arrives in Monzambano for a distance of just 25 km. The itinerary is characterized by the continuous ups and downs of the Garda morainic amphitheater, hill ridges, small valleys, lakes and peat bogs alternate in the cultivated countryside. There is certainly no shortage of points of historical and architectural interest in Desenzano, San Martino della Battaglia, Pozzolengo and Monzambano.

The routes to be cycled are among the most diverse: thus a new
way of cycling is born, less fatigue and the possibility of riding longer distances at
higher averages.
Healthy and sustainable individual mobility is encouraged in cities and is an
increasingly important component of modern "transfer" concepts.

For those who like slightly longer travel times: between Cremona, Casalmaggiore and Mantua following the Pò, a route of about 100 km, where rural elements predominate over the whole landscape. Along the route the town of Sabbioneta cannot be missed, a wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.

For those who love challenging climbs, surely Valcamonica, from Lago D'Iseo, to Passo del Tonale and Aprica, will satisfy the desires and exertions of the most demanding climbers.

For an out-of-town trip, certainly the Turbigo-Sesto Calende (50 km) section is very popular, as it represents an extraordinary route within the forested area of the Ticino Park.
