THE LITTLE CHURCH OF SAINT FERMO
Churches at San Felice del Benaco
On the headland of San Fermo, in front of the island of Garda, is the mystical church built in the fifteenth century. Many centuries ago the area was occupied by an imposing castle, destroyed in 1279. The devotion to San Fermo by our population goes back to a very remote time ... "the little church of S. ermo ... there is a celebration on 9 August, which brings a lot of people down from different parts, some for devotion and those for solace"... this tradition is kept alive to this day. The picturesque location in the lakeside setting has very little comparisons in the Garda region.
