Seasons - Maurizio Cattelan
The widespread exhibition designed by the artist for the city of Bergamo
Maurizio Cattelan's Seasons exhibition unfolds as a visual journey through the city of Bergamo that stimulates reflection on the cyclical nature of life and history, generations, the rise and fall of values, and the transformations of the individual and society.
The title of the exhibition is a clear reference to the seasons, universal symbols of passage and renewal: an invitation to reflect on the becoming of time, but also an exhortation to experience reality in its complexity and drama through art, which does not merely represent the world, but interprets, problematizes and transforms it.
The exhibition itinerary unfolds in four venues and presents five works to the public: Palazzo della Ragione, in Piazza Vecchia, hosts November (2023); at GAMeC, in Via San Tomaso, Empire (2025), and No (2021) are exhibited; the sculpture Bones (2025) is set up in the nearby Ex Oratorio di San Lupo, while One (2025) -a site-specific installation produced in collaboration with the City of Bergamo- stands in the historic Rotonda dei Mille, in the heart of Lower Bergamo.
