Between History and Truffle in Menconico

In the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, Menconico hosts “Between History and Truffle”, a series of events dedicated to discovering the local territory and tasting the Butalà, the traditional dish of the Pavia Apennines. This calendar of experiences brings together authentic flavors, nature trails and activities centered around the prized black truffle of Menconico.

The event celebrates a unique gastronomic heritage, featuring the traditional gnocchi made with Brallo’s De.Co. potatoes and the local black truffle. Each date offers tastings, guided tours and experiences designed to showcase the history, nature and culinary excellence of the Apennine area.

Sunday, 16 November

1:00 pm – Butalà tasting at Ristorante Pian del Poggio, Pian del Poggio, Santa Margherita Staffora.
4:00 pm – Tasting of local products and truffle.

Saturday, 22 November

1:00 pm – Butalà tasting at Ristorante Pizzeria Due Monti, Via Roma 41, Ponte Nizza, with guided visits to two truffle grounds.
4:00 pm – Tasting of local products and truffle.

Saturday, 29 November

1:00 pm – Butalà tasting at Camerini Caffè & Bistrot, Via Roma 10, Bagnaria, followed by visits to two truffle grounds.

Saturday, 6 December

1:00 pm – Butalà tasting at Trattoria Bar La Scaparina, Località Scaparina 1, Ceci, with guided activities dedicated to discovering the black truffle.

1:00 pm – Butalà tasting at Ristorante da Piercarlo, Frazione Brallo, Brallo di Pregola, with nature itineraries.

An experience of nature and authentic flavors

“Between History and Truffle” is the perfect opportunity to discover the Pavia Apennines through its most distinctive products. The tastings highlight the connection between traditional cuisine and the landscape, while the visits to truffle grounds and nature routes offer the chance to explore an area rich in biodiversity.

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Menconico with the support of Ascom Confcommercio Pavia and the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona, Mantua and Pavia.
