Departure Moved to San Nazzaro Due to Water Shortage

Official Statement from the Organizing Committee: Race Program Changes and Logistical Arrangements

The Organizing Committee announces that, due to the severe water shortages affecting the first river section between Pavia and Isola Serafini, the starting point of the 73rd Raid Pavia Venezia has officially been moved to San Nazzaro d’Ongina (hamlet of Monticelli d’Ongina, Province of Piacenza), upstream from the Isola Serafini lock.

As a consequence, the first race sector is to be considered cancelled, and the start of the first boat is scheduled for 07:00 on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in San Nazzaro d’Ongina.

In order to prevent logistical congestion and excessive traffic at the launching ramps in the new starting area, the transfer of vehicles with trailers transporting participating boats from the headquarters of the Associazione Motonautica Pavese to the new starting zone will take place exclusively in scheduled groups, according to a timetable established by the Organization.

Competitors are required to strictly comply with the assigned timeslots, which will be detailed and communicated during the official briefing on Saturday, May 30. Failure to respect the assigned schedules and groups will result in a time penalty, directly applied to the final race standings.

Confident in your understanding of the necessity of these changes, caused by force majeure circumstances, the Organizing Committee invites all competitors to provide their usual maximum cooperation in order to ensure the safety and successful outcome of the event.

The program for Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 remains unchanged.
