Zona tortona

The "Cinderella" of the city, turned from industrial area into queen of art, fashion, design and nightlife

Between the Naviglio Grande and Via Solari, bounded by the area of Sant'Agostino and the beginning of Porta Genova, the streets between Via Savona, Via Tortona and Via Stendhal form a new trendy area called "Zona Tortona" – one of the most dynamic areas of the city and a reference point for those who want to keep up with the latest trends in fashion and design.

The district has undergone a real revolution: here once stood factories, workshops with skylights and exposed brick walls and workers' houses, which have now been transformed by fashion stylists and designers into bright showrooms and spacious lofts. The district is also home to artists' studios and exciting cultural spaces, such as the Officine Creative Ansaldo – where music, theatre, poetry are performed and where artists and creative people get together – or the Pomodoro Foundation on Via Solari – a large space that welcomes contemporary art exhibitions and workshops.

The area is bustling with a variety of venues to suit every taste, from trendy bars for happy hour drinks or get-togethers for intellectuals, to bars where you can still experience the atmosphere of the Milan of yesteryear.

Walking through the streets of the Zona Tortona, you may bump into personalities from the world of culture and entertainment, internationally renowned fashion designers arriving at their studios, and models going to auditions with their portfolios under their arms.

During the Settimana Internazionale del Mobile (International Furniture Week), Zona Tortona is the hub of the Tortona Design Week and is one of the exceptional locations of the Fuori Salone. The many events, showrooms open to the public and workshops allow visitors to immerse themselves in the heart of the district and take full advantage of its creative soul.
