Mantua and Sabbioneta itinerary

Relax and take some time to stroll through the streets and buildings of the World Heritage cities

From Andrea Mantegna's Camera degli Sposi to the Giulio Romano's "giants", and the theater that enchanted Mozart.

Explore one of the most important Renaissance courts of Europe: City of the Gonzaga, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and 2016 Italian Capital of Culture.

Uncover the wonder of the Palazzo Ducale and Mantegna's paintings in the home he once lived in, the Rotonda di San Lorenzo, the oldest church of Mantua, and Leon Battista Alberti's Basilica di Sant'Andrea.

First Day: Transfer to Mantua.
Visit the historic center with an itinerary by foot, exploring the rich artistic and cultural heritage that characterizes the city. Take off from Teatro Bibiena to reach Piazza Erbe, the heart of the city where you can admire the Palazzo della Ragione, the Clock Tower, the Rotonda di San Lorenzo, and the Basilica di Sant'Andrea just a stone's throw away (duration: about 3 hours).

Second Day: Take the time to and enjoy a guided visit of the Palazzo Ducale and Palazzo Te (duration: 3 hours). In the afternoon, use your free time to explore the city, strolling through the city streets and admire the churches and monuments scattered throughout town. For something a bit different at night, take the short ferry ride on the Lakes of Mantua with an aperitivo on board. Let the surroundings set the scene and indulge in a romantic evening.

Third Day: Transfer to Sabbioneta.
Visit to the "Ideal City" of Sabbioneta with access to the Synagogue, Palazzo Ducale, Teatro Olimpico, Palazzo Giardino,  Galleria degli Antichi, and Church (duration: about 3 hours).
