The magic of Lago di Sartirana

Lago di Sartirana is in the area of Merate, and is still a little known location. Due to its singular natural habitat it has been listed as a protected nature reserve.

The area is full of nature, awaiting discovery and enjoyment. Here the flora and fauna are typical of lake and marshy environments, from fish to birds, mammals and insects.

Along the trail surrounding the lake are information panels sharing information on the wildlife in the reserve.

It is possible to walk around its entire perimeter: the vegetation surrounds and enhances this natural oasis. Elegant water lilies cover the lake, enhanced by its rich and diverse flora, leaving space for different types of landscapes: from the lake to the rushes and woods, with its hard-working woodpeckers.

A birdwatching platform at the end of a wooden pier is available to observe all this magnificent nature. It is easy to see parents, grandparents and children fishing in the lake. 

The slow rhythm of nature reigns here, wild nature to be discovered in silence.
