Big Bench #333
The first Big Bench on Lake Comabbio, province of Varese, was installed in December 2023. This glacial lake, between Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese is famous for its canoe races and now also for the lilac and white Big Bench #333, near the municipality of Varano Borghi, along Viale della Repubblica.
This is the second Big Bench to come to the province of Varese (after the one in Satrio) with an eye to promoting nature and culture in the local area.
The Big Bench is in fact easily accessible to those who use the Lake Comabbio cycle way and it affords magical views over the waters, which can be seen both in summer and winter, thanks to a 13 km loop, re-opened after two years in 2023. The route takes you past picturesque villages, including Vergiate (Corgeno), Mercallo dei Sassi, Ternate and Comabbio, as well as Varano Borghi, and offers children and families a great day outside, enjoying all the fairy tale magic.
