A Walk in the Woods with Aperitivo in Montemartino

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the association “Gli Amici di Montemartino” APS is organizing a Walk in the Woods with Aperitivo in Montemartino, a hamlet of the Municipality of Menconico, along a brand-new loop trail that starts and finishes in the small Apennine village. It's an opportunity to discover the trails and landscapes of the Pavia mountains, with food and wine stops and conviviality along the way.

A loop trail through woods and ridges

The walk follows a new loop route, Montemartino-Montemartino, designed to combine hiking with discovering the local area. Departure is set for 10:30 am from the Piazzetta della Chiesa in Montemartino, the starting and finishing point of the route. Given the nature of the trail, which crosses woodland and unpaved stretches, organizers recommend wearing hiking shoes.

Aperitivo halfway and lunch back in the square

Halfway through the route, participants can enjoy an aperitivo with a tasting of local cured meats and cheeses — a chance to rest and take in the scenery before continuing the walk. Back in Montemartino, the day concludes with lunch in the Piazzetta della Chiesa, featuring malfatti, cheeses, cured meats and desserts, for a convivial moment open to all participants.
