September Festival in Travacò Siccomario
From 11 to 14 September 2026, Travacò Siccomario, the municipality nestled between the Ticino and Po rivers just two kilometres from Pavia, comes alive again with its traditional September Festival (Sagra di Settembre).
Organised by the Pro Loco Travacò Siccomario, the event offers four days of activities including children's workshops, walks and bike rides through the countryside, art and photography exhibitions, a conference, live music and local food at the Festival Area in Piazza Fontana and other landmark locations around the town.
The closing day, Monday 14 September, coincides with the traditional celebrations of Saint Theodore, Travacò Siccomario's patron saint, which traditionally take place on the second Monday of September. The festival captures the spirit of a celebration shared across generations.
Friday 11 September: the festival begins with the little ones
The programme begins on the afternoon of Friday 11 September, from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm, in Piazza Fontana, with the children's workshop "Crea con la Natura" (Create with Nature).
The activity is organised in collaboration with LIPU (Italian League for the Protection of Birds), which has a long-standing presence in this area. Just a few kilometres away, within the Lombard Park of the Ticino Valley, lies the LIPU Bosco Negri Nature Reserve, one of the best-known nature conservation areas south of Pavia.
Through games and natural materials, the workshop offers children an opportunity to discover and appreciate the river environment surrounding Travacò.
Saturday 12 September: walks, pop art and cosplay
On Saturday 12 September, four different events take participants from morning to evening.
The day begins at 9.00 am with "Camminando nel Siccomario" (Walking through the Siccomario). Meeting point: Festival Area, Piazza Fontana. The approximately 5-kilometre walk explores the countryside between the Ticino and Po rivers, with the return scheduled for 10.30 am.
At 11.00 am, the focus shifts to art with the opening at the Town Hall of "TravaPop Siccomart", a pop art painting exhibition by Marquis Matteo Borioli.
In the afternoon, at 5.00 pm, Saletta Fontana hosts the opening of "Fantasticamente Reale" (Fantastically Real), a photography exhibition by Davide Massacra dedicated to the world of cosplay, featuring elaborate costumes and characters brought to life in front of the camera.
The day ends, as do the following two evenings, in the Festival Area, with food and live music from 7.30 pm. Music and dancing will be provided by Hernan Brando and Alessandro Lucca.
Sunday 13 September: cycling, a conference and Corte Vittoria
On Sunday 13 September, the festival returns to the countryside, this time on two wheels.
At 3.00 pm, "Biciclettando nel Siccomario" (Cycling through the Siccomario) sets off from the Girasole in Travacò, in the Frua district. The approximately 9-kilometre route includes a stop at the Il Novello day centre, near the historic Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Novello, before reaching Tenuta Corte Vittoria.
At 4.30 pm, the estate hosts the conference "VenTo e la sua Terra", focusing on the VenTo cycling route and the territory through which it passes.
Sunday evening once again concludes in the Festival Area, with food and live music from 7.30 pm. This year's entertainment is provided by Barbara and Loresax.
Monday 14 September: the Coscritti evening brings the festival to a close
The grand finale takes place on Monday 14 September with the traditional Serata Coscritti.
From 7.30 pm, the Festival Area hosts the final evening of food, music and entertainment, with GianLuca Trentani at the DJ console and entertainment by Luca Bergamaschi.

On the evenings of Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 September, the Festival Area in Piazza Fontana also serves as a food and refreshment area, with a bar and restaurant service available throughout the festival.
